Stephen Harper Is Such a SandBox Baby

I don’t see how an expensive full-on inquiry into the Air India bombing will find anything that the RCMP and CSIS haven’t already uncovered. This smacks more of posturing (just like the PM showing up in Afghanistan before the cushions at 24 Sussex have barely been sat on) and shows how tedious this new government plans to be.

Back in the Reform Party days, Stephen Harper had a sense of arrogance, bookishness, and heavy-handedness about him and now it’s coming out full-force since he’s become PM. Witness his stiff-armed (one could say boorish) treatment of accredited media in Ottawa, his disdain for David Emerson protesters (what he referred to as ‘the same 10 people’ actually represent thousands of unhappy voters) and his demeanor in the House as if he had a majority government.

It’s too bad people are too sick of elections, because, ideally, he should have his budget defeated and become a 2006 version of Joe Clark (albeit better-looking). Sadly, his government will probably will survive for a bit more and we’ll see some costly nonsense. What would be really great, though far-fetched (since she’s not even running) is a Belinda Stronach-led Liberal government in power. If she could do for Canada what she did for her daddy’s company, we would be happy little @#$%@s.
